Two Meatballs: Get to Know These Nuts (Sara)!

baby bumble

Get to know this little nut!  This is me at 2…can you say handful!?

Good Morning!!!!!!!!!!  We wanted to take a moment to tell you a little about ourselves.  I’m Sara (the blonde- haha) and I’m 31 and single!  I’m originally from Raleigh, NC and I looooooooove it here because it’s the living best.  I am a super passionate, quick witted, sharp tongued Scorpio.  I’m a hellcat in the sack, I love the beach and if I didn’t already have my dream job at Samuel Cole Salon where I’m a master stylist, network educator and the director of mentoring, I would write and perform on Saturday Night Live.  I can’t get enough of anything that is awkward…it’s like a moth to a flame!  Ke$has is my spirit animal and Beyoncé is my idol.  I would literally do anything for my friends and family (some might say a ride or die bitch).  I sing in the shower and apologize several times a day for the things I blurt out. I talk to my parents John and Anna, multiple times a week. They just celebrated their 40th anniversary and are the most supportive people a girl could ask for.  Then there is my sister, or as we affectionately refer to each other as…did or fisters.  No one likes either of these nicknames…especially fister.  But it’s not what you think…it’s fucking sister!  I’ve never met anyone more full of joy and I love being around her….co-habitation!!!!  I only have one biological sister but I also have my cousin Kristina who has always been our other sister and my best friend of almost 30 years Katie. I could not survive without them!!!!  The four of us have formed a life long bond and they are my K’s!!!  Then we have my sister’s kids, my sweet baby angel nephew nuggets!!!  Wyatt and Chase are the Peanut butter to my jelly (which I cant have either of those on Paleo). I love them so much I want to squish them and then eat their faces.  All these people help make me me.  I am one of a kind and you will either love me or fucking hate me…there is no in between! Hopefully it’s the first! Xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo

Two Meatballs Get Fired Up!

The main reason that we…the two most technologically challenged humans of all time…decided to start a blog was for accountability.  We’ve all made New Year’s Resolutions that we didn’t stick to or cheated on our diets in secret.  But this way we feel like we can be super honest about the ups and downs of losing a LOT of weight.  We might fuck up (and by might I mean will) but we are going to share the good, bad, ugly and FUN of it all! Blogs helped us get started on a new lifestyle as well as countless hours of repinning recipes and inspiration on pinterest.  We started three weeks ago and we feel sooooo good!  We haven’t really had any major missteps so far which was a surprise to us both.  Paleo is extremely satistfying…who knew!

Two Meatballs get physical!

You can’t get fit if you don’t exercise…am I right ladies?!  It’s Official…Jenny and Sara have joined a gym…again!  But this time we are actually using it and not just having a monthly occurring reminder of that place we avoided!  Prior to our fancy new gym member ship, our physical activity was limited to sweaty 2am karaoke/dance parties in Sara’s kitchen….If I Could Turn Back Time (shout out to Kristi Kessler and Cher obvi!). We are also trying to be realistic with starting out so as of right now our goal is to go a couple of times a week and try a new class this month.  Thoughts?!  Should we do Zumba…Body Pump…Let us know!

Two Meatballs have a revelation

Jenny and I decided at the beginning of March that we were finally ready to get healthy.  So what did we do??? We read up on our options and decided to try a Paleo lifestyle.  We really didn’t want to just do another unrealistic crash diet that had always failed us in the past.  This time we knew we needed a new way of thinking about food that we could stick to forever.  Simultaneously we both started aggressively budgeting. So even though Whole Foods is literally in our salon parking lot (did we mention we work together)…we schlepped it all the way across town to Trader Joe’s.  We bought a weeks worth of Paleo friendly food for $100!!!  Here is what we got! It’s totally possible to be healthy on a budget!
