Two Meatballs: Explore the Future!

Hi everyone!

The universe is telling us that change is on the horizon and we are going to go with it!!! It’s time.

We got very hooked on a one track path to healthy and now we need to explore our options.  We are both feeling a little defeated, uninspired and overwhelmed!

We are going to take the next two weeks for Sara’s lungs to keep healing, for us find new exciting ways to stay active, find more ways to connect to each other and ourselves and really just looking for the inspiration and drive we need to push us forward.  We are saying goodbye to the “back on track” mentality because we don’t want to go backwards we want to move forward and words are powerful.  We are bored with ourselves

We also want to be less goal obsessed and enjoy the process and take some of the pressure off.  This is the rest of our lives afterall!

Which brings us to our next topic…the weigh ins!  We love these, especially when things are going well. But, it takes about week out of the month to plan, execute, shoot, shop, edit, upload and write the posts!  That really makes us feel like we only have 3 weeks to show progress and as you know lately there hasn’t been any…so sad!

So we are going to start quarterly weigh ins!!!  We feel really excited to actually see and feeeel some progress and feel less pressure and find the fun again!

I have never felt this good before…like ever in my life.  I feel proud, confident, sexy as hell…I feel beautiful and I feel like I earned every single feeling that I’m having right now.  I never knew that I could be this girl…healthy, getting fit, full of integrity, strong, so inspired to be a better person, wanting desperately to pay it forward.  There is a line in the Beyonce remix of Flawless that my sister and I are obsessed with and she says…”I wish everyone could feel like this” and I do want that!!!  I want to spread the joy and confidence that I feel to every single person I come into contact with.  You guyyyyyys…I’m down 90 mother bitchin pounds that I will never see again.  Here’s to 100…I don’t know if I will ever stop crying when that day comes. The amount of gratitude we feel towards every single person that reads our blog and checks in on our progress is overwhelming.  You guys have no idea how much it helps us stay focused on our goals and thank you will never feel like enough, but we thank you anyways. Hellllo!!!! I feel incredible!!!!   And I gained two pounds!!!!  I don’t feel defeated…..I worked really hard to only gain 2 pounds.  I knew December was going to be hard……but damn it was really hard and yet sooooo fun.  This has been the most amazing experience of my life. I am doing more then I ever expected, I am no longer walking through life….I AM RUNNING!!!  Every day I wake up to take on the challenge, and I am addicted.  This journey is evolving everyday and I am so grateful to be open to it physically and emotionally.  I will get to my goal.  Being patient with myself is becoming my biggest challenge. I have never been this excited for today and tomorrow!!   This is really becoming about living.  The struggles make the success that much sweeter. Thank you for your support!  This growing circle of friends and community are huge to our success and we couldn’t do this without you!!  Cheers!! Muuuahhhh

So we made it through the holidays. I’d like to think I did well but I did gain 5 lbs. Had trouble resisting temptation. Oh well I guess it’s all part if the ebb and flow of my journey. I’m back at the gym now trying to bulk up on my muscles and still burn fat. We shall see.

Two Meatballs: Six Month Strip!!! (aka the 6th Weigh in)

(chanting quiet whisper) weigh in time…weigh in time (getting louder) Weigh In Time…Weigh In Time (YELLING) WEIGHI N TIME….WEIGH IN TIMMMMMMMMMMEEEEEEE!!!  You guyyys….guess what time it is…BINGO! You guyyyyyyyssss…I was soooo worried about this month!!!  I started August out so rocky with missed gym visits and eating out all the time!  But I rewrote my plan to adjust to all the new great things and it really paid off!!!!  I am sooooo capable of change and I feel so great that I don’t ever want this feeling to end.  This is the most weight that I have ever lost consecutively and it is really empowering.  I have a long way to go but I have honestly never felt so good, committed and completely capable.  Thank you to everyone for their encouragement and support.  Your love means the world and we feel the same about you! xoxoxoxxooxoxoxoxoxox ps….I look and feel soooooo tiny!!!!!  #wahoooooooooooooooo

I feel great you guys!!!!!  I wanted to get to 50lbs this month but I am so excited to be this close.  And I have never felt better.  I can’t believe it has been 6 months!  3 is about all I can handle usually, but this is starting to truly feel like lifestyle!  And that is my biggest goal out of this really, to live a healthy balanced lifestyle.  I have a month before my birthday, so I wanna give it my all before I turn 30!!  I couldn’t be happier or more excited for it.  I have to thank Sara for always being my go to girl! And Brandon for all of his constant support! I love you!!  And thank you Sandra for taking us under your wing!  I have learned so much!  The support from the blog is just incredeable so thank you for always being there!!!!!  I could not do this alone!

Two Meatballs: Did You Guys Know That I Have a Sister Or That I’m Dating The Cutest Guy!?

Bahahahahahahaha jk times a million!!!  Of course you know these things bc I never shut up about them!!!!  So my sweet sis…you guys she is the living best!!!  I am soooo thankful to have her in my life…everyone should be this lucky!!!  I was still feeling super ick from my no air trauma Saturday morning and this little cutie showed up at my house with some Starbucks!!!  And we decided to gallivant all around town.  Since I told her that I felt not so hot she came in jorts and a crappy t-shirt and for once in my life I had options for her to wear!!!  #progress So we played a little game I like to call…two sisters…one shirt!

Then, we hopped into the car and headed to Torrid…coffees in hand!

All of my clothes were getting a little baggy so it was time to shop!!!  First we decided to try on jumpsuits #failparttwo! #dumpinthepants

#oooooph!  Then I tried on some jorts myself and honestly they were so rednecky and trashtastic I couldn’t commit to a pic! I know its hard to believe based on the hideous pics that we put on here but this one was shameful! #ijudgedmyself But I had a revelation that I went down a size!  These were 22’s and they were HUGENORMOUS!

I joyfully spent some money reinvesting into my wardrobe!  Then we hopped down to DSW!

One win…one intentional fail!!!!  Then it was off to lunch at super yummy super healthy Neomonde’s where we ran into one of my first client’s ever, Johanna and her friend who had just come from a bike ride!!!  I love this girl!

We both got the living yummiest, no guilt lunches and sat outside soaking up all this great weather!!! I had the chicken and steak kabob platter with fatush and corn salad!!!

We could literally paint fences together and we would have fun!!!! Sooo, we spent the whole day together and ate super healthy and got tons of walking exercise and lets be honest…nothing gets you sweatier than trying on clothes!!! #goodforeachother #bestdecisions Then we put on our new shoes…

I can’t really make a good decision at Chilli’s so we came and enjoyed the company and celebration and a heaping glass of water and then met up with my little meatball for actual dinner! Nothing makes me happier than all of my friends and family getting along! We went to Winston’s and had the yummiest salads!!! Soooooo…onto that cute guy I’m seeing…have I mentioned him yet!?!! #duhhhhh We had the funnest Sunday Funday!  We had brunch at Beasley’s Chicken and Honey.  You guys are not going to believe this but he knew like errrrryone there. #popular  #solikeable!  Brunch was so yummy I forgot to take pics…have you guys been to Beasley’s!?!  You should go…so goooood….I had The Silver Plate which was scrambled eggs, bacon and home fries…he had something that looked amazing with cornbread, eggs, collards and gravy!  And his sweet friend at the restaurant sent out the living best churros…I only had two bites #guiltypleasure Then we walked to the history museum and learned sooooo much.

I didn’t know that I could be this happy!  Is there like a cloud 75 because I ‘m on it!!!  I have such a long way to go but this is a great start!!!  I can’t believe I’ve lost 62 pounds….that’s like a healthy 3rd grader!  Bye Bobby!  See ya never.  I feel soooooo powerful at the gym and everything feels easier.  Being happy is a choice and so is being healthy.  It feels nice to be making the right decisions you guys!!!  Thanks for all the support and encouragement!  I love you guys so much. Ok so here it is…….. I lost 3lbs.  My smallest weight lost to date.  I’m feeling a little bitter over it.  I know I worked hard. I’ve been eating all the right things.  What happened?!?!?!?!  It must be that tight ass I have developed, Nothing but  pure muscle……am I right ladies?!?!   Physically I feel great.  I have to keep on chugging along. My vision is still strong, and I know I must keep on.  So here I go, ready to start this next month, Happy August you guys!  As always thank you for all the support!!!!

Holy shit!!!  We feel great, we are getting a million compliments and together we’ve lost almost 100 pounds!!!

So what have we done…gotten cocky and started getting a little slack! NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! I did better on vacation than I have this week…who does that?!!  Jenny and I made a pact on Tuesday morning to give up our personal vices for one week.  She said goodbye to dark chocolate and I said adios to pistachios (NOOOOOOOOO)!!!

So we started this month with great intentions.  Then we posted the weigh in and the praise and compliments came pouring in (thank y’all so much) and that little voice in the back of our heads (not blue cross blue shield) said….YOU’VE ARRIVED!.  Surely we must be done right?!  We look great, we  feel great…time to eat! We went to Ale House Wednesday night to celebrate..again with great intentions…what’s more Paleo than WINGS!? But then I ordered onion straws and we both ate our weight in bleu cheese. Woooooooof… We felt so awful when we left…I felt stuffy and like I had a cold and we both felt hungover and can you say BLOATED.  What a way to celebrate right!?  Lesson learned.   BUUUUUUT then I met up with some girlfriends last night that I hadn’t seen in a million years and we went to Coquette. Love you Robyn and Ellen!!!

Let me say…Coquette had some really great options…there was a pan seared duck breast and even my fav…scallops!  But do you know what I ordered!?!?!?  STEAK FRITES!  For those of you like my sister that struggle with French (#haricotvertshahahahahahahaha) its steak and FRIES!  Like French fries you guyssss…white potato, fried shoestring French fries.  And I know French so this wasn’t like oh whooopsies…I didn’t know what frites were!  But they were delish and it happened.  So then I woke up the next morning before our work out with our super best buddy Sandra Axman (www.innovativefitnesstraining.com caaaaaaaaaallllllll her!) and adorably hopped on my scale as if I were going to see a loss and you are never going to even believe this shit y’all….I GAINED 3 POUNDS. Duhhhhhhhhhhh Sara!  Anyways I got dressed and went downstairs and sweet Jenny picked me up!  And she was in a mood…a mood that much reflected how I was feeling.  Neither one of us felt like exercising, we were both being bitchy and super irritated…it’s the craziest thing when you stray from what works how quickly your mind goes to fuck it mode. Sooooo we had a little counseling sesh on the drive to the gym.  We both have been too slack…eating too much, eating out, not eating the right things, not getting enough sleep, being slack with water and for me skipping my normal workouts.  She said I’m going to use all this anger in our workout today…#genius!  A workout was just what the doctor ordered.  How can you be mad when you are so physically exhausted and so proud of what you just accomplished!?  And by the by…Sandra you are the greatest human…thank you for forcing us out of our funk and always being so encouraging, positive and energetic.  You are a ray of sunshine that both of us desperately needed this morning and your commitment to our journey and end result is something that we are so grateful for!!!!!!!  We love you to the moon and back.  On to the workout…these first few pics we were still deep into bitch mode.

We went inside and the tom foolery began…lets be honest nothing makes us feel better than acting like children!

Then Sandra asked the question that we have heard 1,000 times this week…”have you guys been measuring?”  Nooooooo we are idiots!  Why didn’t we measure …that would be an awesome way to track progress!  So we started today! We also got our BMI and some other important number using a Gameboy like hand held device

Aaaaand now on to the workout for real!  This was both of our favorite workout ever!!! It was HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) and we did Tabata which involves doing a particular exercise at high intensity for 20 seconds followed by 10 seconds of rest.  It’s repeated 8 times for a total time of 4 minutes! (Explanation courtesy of Sandra)  First we did the dumbest cardio ever(this is Sara speaking…I hated this damn band)…it involved a small thick band that went around our ankles  and then you stepped up and over a step aerobic step (#howmanytimescanyousaystepinonesentence) and we did a Tabata here.

Take a closer look at why I hated these…my poor fat ankles…my cankles/calves got eaten by rubber!

Then there were two stations both with two different exercises each. The back station you were kneeling on a BOSU ball doing reverse chest press (pull down) And at the chest station you did a  chest press on a bench and we did these for 8 rounds…

Then we did the second exercise at our stations.  At the back station you switched to standing trx rows and at the chest station you switched to chest fly’s!

Then we got onto our mats and did Tabata ab work…with two different exercises working two different areas.  First was upper abs with crunches for 8 rounds then lower abs with leg crunches (laying flat and bringing your bent legs to your chest and then extending them back out) for 8 rounds. (There were no pics of this so we recreated this at work! #yourwelcome #mybackissoooohairynow)

Then we did a cardio thing back on the step with one leg stationary with the other leg being brought up with the knee bent and tapping the ground and bringing it back up again for 8 rounds…holy burn batman.

Then we switched stations and whoever did back went to chest and vicey versey!

Did you breath a sigh of relief and think that we were done..me too but WRONG! haha

Next was two different stations one for biceps and the other for triceps.

At the bicep station we did bicep curls while sitting on an exercise ball to engage our core!  At the tricep station we had a stretchy thingy with two handles attached to an elliptical machine for stability and we had to do tricep extensions (Huge shout out to Michael for helping me figure out workout jargon…he is not responsible for the dumb shit I make up but for the correct terminology!)

Then before we switched stations we did a cardio/quad blaster back on the aerobic step. You start with your right foot fixed to one spot on the step and then do speed skaters for 8 rounds. After each round you alternate the leg that is stationary.

Then we switched bicep and tricep stations…

Annnnnd that was all she wrote!  This workout felt ahhhh-mazing!  Then we had to jackass around again!

We just can’t keep our clothes on now!  But look how much smaller!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!

And finally Sandra (yelling this) WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH!  To everyone reading this…if you are struggling to find the motivation to work out of just don’t know what you are supposed to do, this woman will educate and inspire you and help you get to your goal 1 squat at a time! Look at the difference she has made in our lives!?!?
