Yessssss!!!!! Feels good.  I worked hard this month.  I chose to eat better and workout when I really didn’t want to.  Jenny and I had so much going on this month. We were surrounded by celebratory food all month….It was hard, but making the right choices  felt good physically and  emotionally.  Feeling great and ready to take on November.  I’m just so inspired by these ladies everyday and couldn’t be more proud.

 

Brandon!!!  That’s so amazing!!!! Congrats on your incredible progress!!!  You are murdering it!!! XOXOXOXOXO

You guyyyyyysssss…I cannot believe that I lost weight this month!!!  Especially 7 pounds.  This feels like such a huge victory.  This month was rough but I feel amazing now and I couldn’t be more recommitted!!! Not only do I feel physically healthier but I feel mentally and emotionally at the top of my game.  I can really feel and SEE such a big difference in my body. I have lost 80 pounds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  HOLY SHIT! That is the most weight I have EVER lost and you know what…I’m never turning back.  This will be a roller coaster of a journey but I am crossing that finish line no matter what.  Healthy life…here I come! I am grateful everyday for the people in my life.  Thank you to each and every one of you who take the time to follow our ups and downs.  We love you.  And Jenny, I couldn’t do this with anyone else and I certainly wouldn’t have made it this far alone!!!  I love you soooo much and I’m so excited for what’s to come.

Ok so it was only one pound………that’s ok. I made some bad decisions this month so I am just grateful to be down.  But I need to get my ass in gear here…losing one pound a month is not at all satisfying considering all the effort I am putting into this new lifestyle….so my junk food weekends were not worth it looking back now.   But I feel great, I love working out and I feel even better when I am eating all the right things ! It truly is a journey and I’m ready for November !  I don’t have the holiday fears at this moment.  I Will not let my sweet tooth get the best of me!!! So here’s to powerful not pitiful!!!!!

We have been feeling soooo good…so why not work out with Sandra and feel even worse…sorry I meant better! #loveyasandy Today was so fucking hard y’all.  All we want to do is sing and dance allll the time but when we work out we  just barely keep our heads above water! Okkkkkk so it’s really time to get to it….last work out before the weigh in.  Time to make it count! Workout!!!!

We started 5 minutes on the treadmill for a warm up. Then we did full sit ups for time.

This was sooooo hard! Then we did bend at the waist 20 lb weight tight body mid row.

Then back to wall balls.  The first sequence we had to step in and overhead throw the ball at the wall…halfway through we changed lead legs..

Then overhead oblique slam balls!

Then we repeated this entire sequence from the sit ups! Thennnnn, we did a mini session twice starting with 20 lbs  we did squats to side raises…

Then we dropped the squats and swapped out 5 lb weights and just did the side raises…

Then we did burpees with 20 lb weights!

Two Meatballs: Comfy, cozy Clothes and Food!!!!!

Hey It’s Jenny!!!!!!  So Sara and I have total recommitted to our personal goals…….and it feels so gooood!    Literally,  I’m moving better, sleeping better, acting better, and even shitting better….who knew?!?!?!  I am just so grateful to bounce back after 3 weeks of destruction rather then 6 months, something I would have done in my past!!  This is the time I would have started back on my own ways and gained back 30lbs.   Damn it……I just know too much now. can’t go back!!!!!!   So with that said, Sara and I are getting back in the Kitchen to prepare some food for our lunches!  I loved lunch time growing up.  Sitting in the Cafeteria, and cracking up over dumb jokes and observing everyones lunches and how different they all were.  Well not much has changed, we get to sit together and talk our faces off about our yummy food and any struggles we may be having, a little bit of therapy everyday.  So Tonight on the menu……Some comfort food!  And I mean it,  it was so comfy.  this might be one of the most satisfying meals we have made.   Zucchini, Chicken and Squash Casserole!   But before we Started cooking, I told sara I was in deperate need of some more workout clothes.  So we made a Target Stop first.   So here…..enjoy these!!!

Two Meatballs: 1000 Practical Ways to Avoid Cleaning Out Your Closet!!!

You guyyyyys!  Being back in the game feeeeels famazing!!!!  I don’t know how to handle not feeling sunny so I couldn’t be happier that the clouds have lifted.  Jenny mentioned a few posts ago that her room was messy and full of shopping bags and was there a correlation between the state of her room and how she was eating!?  Well I think that there is and I can totally relate!  Every single time that I am focused and on point with my eating and exercising, my home is pristine (or as pristine as a four can handle) and my car is spotless, my budget is air tight, my sleep habits are predictable and it is pretty easy to stay in this place.  I have also noticed that I am very malleable and I adapt very quickly to change.  Soooooo, if that change comes in the form of eating Dairy Queen Blizzards everyday then the following is to be expected…skipping the gym, staying up later and sleeping in like crazy, super messy home, closed curtains, filthy trash heap of a car, no care in the world when it comes to my budget, and sooooo mannnny newwwww clothes! My home and car are literally a reflection of my body.  So, what’s a girl to do when she wants change!?  It’s time to clean out my closet and my car….figuratively and literally! So I called my sis who is the living best person to tackle a project with.  Now all these words sound great right!?!  Making myself tackle a project is like trying to put your cat in a warm, bubbly bath.  I will do ANYTHING to avoid the project!!! This girl just wants to have fun!  So I suggested that Kelly pick me up and we get right to cleaning…right after  we go work out and have breakfast with the fam!

Two Meatballs: Get High in North Carolina

OMG.   My honey and I just spent the whole weekend in Ashville!  Not only are we in a high altitude location but on the amazing food scene Ashville offers.    So many of the restaurants are a farm to table experiences.  Which is great for this paleo gal!!  So you can choose to be senseable or down right decadent!   We stayed for two nights and had a total blast just hanging out together again.  This wAs my birthday present !!   Thank you honey!!!;) so let the journey begin!

Excited morning selfíes!!  One of my co workers and friend Natalie, recommend a couple of yummy places to hit up.  So we stared the day at Over Easy.  We both had a hearty breakfast.

Brandon had the apple stuffed French toast, And I had pastrami, goat cheese, fig, and rosemary eggs Benedict .   Amazing.   I know this was a bit of a splurge,  but we had a full day of walking ahead of us.   Next…. Biltmore!

TwAs gorgeousssss!!! You can spend the whole day here!   We climbed so many Ffffing steps…. Even Sandra would be proud!!!!   We were exhausted…. So what did we do, walked around downtown!!!   I love this city!! It was so easy to walk around and I love All the amazing and awful street performers!!!    So we shopped and just took in the culture.

We were so busy and hadn’t eaten since breakfast.  So around 5 o’clock hunger was setting in pretty strongly!!  We turned the corner and fell into another recommendation Salsas.   The line went around the building, waiting for their dinner hours to begin so we jumped in at the right time for the first seating.  It is Mexican cearibieane fusion!  Delicious!!!!!

Then we stopped in the French board chocolate lounge!

Next, on to the Orange Peel, where we went and saw Jimmy eat World play.

We spent our last bit of time walking around several art galleries they have there.  We saw some amazing art.

And went to the highly recommended , one hour and forty five minute wait brunch spot, Tupelo Honey!  Yeah it was pretty fucking good.  They are famous for their sweet potato , honey pancakes!!

But we came home, and it was project  pink puppy for Halloween !!   And I missed this face so much!!!!!! Thanks kitty for all your artistic help today!!!!!!

Two Meatballs: Weeeeeee’re Backkkkkkkkkkk!!!!

Ok so enough bitching from these two meatballs!!!  We are back in the best way!!! Our great pal and honorary meatball Nikki showed me a pic of us  from two years ago on her time hop and it was exactly the motivation I needed to get back 100 %….I am almost unrecognizable!

We have both started cooking and eating at home more and out less.  We are both making great…actual paleo choices annnnnd for the first time in almost two weeks….I WENT TO THE GYM!  #welcomeback #wemissedya It was soooo nice to see Sandra and she was so full of encouraging words.  You guyyyys….don’t ever take a break from the gym.  It is literally like starting COMPLETELY over!!!  I legit almost barfed my life away #mighthavebeentheonlywayiwouldloseweightthismonthhahahhaah  We are going to tag team this post…here comes Jenny!  Love y’all! Hey!!!!!!  We are back! Feeling powerful not pitiful!!! So let’s go hang out with Sandra!!  And get our asses handed to us in the best possible way!!!  Let me just say I love the confidence this woman has in us.  So anyway we warmed up on the treadmill for 5 mins and then our workout began !!!!

Two Meatballs: Cabbage Farts for Days!!!

The cooking segment is back!  #yourewelcomekelly As you have seen from both Jenny and I this month has been a total food fest!!!  So forcing ourselves to cook was a must and a struggle this week! Last week when we were supposed to cook we went out for a sushi date instead, so this week needed to happen!  But we were smart…we cooked the comfiest food of alllll time…crock pot pork tenderloin with cabbage, carrots and onions!!!  First off…nothing is easier than a crock pot meal and second of allllll……yummmmmmmmmm!!! Let me paint a picture of what my cooking fantasy is…Jenny and I jackass around, have so much fun, learn a new recipe  and then we sit down with Brandon and enjoy an amazing little meal that we just prepared with love and healthy vibes. Now,  let me just pop that bubble and tell you that that has literally NEVER happened and tonight was no exception.  Let me paint the reality of cooking night.  I had to work until 8, so Jenny had actually started hours before I got there.  This is the scene I walked into at the Smith home.

Jenny was writing the blog you read yesterday.  I was starving when I got off work so I stopped by Chickfila and got a salad and devoured it at their dining room table solo as soon as I walked though the door!

Brandon was glued to the Hurricanes game which he explained thoroughly how the points system works! #iunderstandhockey now #thanksbrandon

The house smelled farty  but somehow yummy for sure…you know what I’m talking about right ladies…house full of stewing cabbage!!!! So how do you make this fall comfort food!?  Here is your ingredient list:

1 cup Apple Cider Vinegar

1 cup water

1 tbsp. salt

1 tsp pepper

2 tsp paprika

2 lbs. pork tenderloin

1 onion chopped

4 carrots chopped

1 head of green cabbage

Put slow cooker on low, dump all veggies on the bottom, then lay the pork on top of that,  then sprinkle all the seasonings and then add your wet ingredients and cook for 6-8 hours!!! Jenny literally did all the work here!

So what are the three best friends who anyone could ever have (did you see what I did there!?) to do while waiting for the pork to cook!? Well snuggle on the couch and act a fool of course.  I used to spend endless hours with these two!!!  This felt great and super duper comfy…the theme of the night!

Sooooo fun!!!!  The three of us haven’t been in a room together for more than five minutes in ages and it was soooo great!  We talked a lot about how hard it is to stay focused while losing weight…our major fall cravings, how mean your brain is at sabotaging a good food day and just struggles in general!  Then we watched youtube videos and reenacted terrible commercials! We discussed if you could lose a pound every time you farted that all we would eat is beans for life!!!  #meatballssssss And there was def a moment where we all broke out into “These Boots Were Made For Walking” which turned into a conversation about cassette tapes and Michael Bolton.  Welcome to the land of ADD and 4 city!

It was verrrry vinegar-ey so we added a cup of water to the recipe above.  But it really grew on us and was so comfy and warm!

Two Meatballs: October will you end already?!?!?!

So this weekend was full of festivities!!! I love the fall in north carolina!  With that comes crazy amounts of food. And not just any kind of food, double deep fried foods. Wtf!! Hows a girl suppost to get healthy around here?? We started the weekend in High Point to celebrate my mother in law(Alisa) and her marriage to Bennett!!! So happy for them!! We went to the Grandover in Greensboro for the most decadent brunch ever!!!!

Then it was back home for an amazing Oribe class at Samuel Cole!!!   I love learning more and more about what I do. These classses always inspire me to make everything beautiful, and a reminder of how much fun my job is!!!  When I am so enthralled in work I dont even think about food.    Im in a total happy place!!  Pizza was provided that day, but I stayed strong and had a salad from whole foods! Life saver!!! Yumm

Tony Caldwell was fantastic!   Cant wait for him to come back.  Then a spontaneous trip to the fair!!!!!   I didnt eat anything to crazy!  I had a bite of a corn dog, roasted corn, a cheese stick and a couple of bites of a candy apple!!   We had so much fun walking all over the place,  we milked a cow, rides dog show, face painting and pigs!!!!!

Two Meatballs: From Farmer’s Market to Table

I’ve been really struggling through this break up!!!  Logically I know that it’s for the best but somebody tell my irrational emotions that!!!  I feel like a Cathy cartoon strip…I’m wearing sweats but not working out and all I can think about is eating chocolate and ice cream…Aaaack! #whoIam!?

I am soo not used to feeling like this and no one really told me that even though you have mentally processed everything that a little mourning period follows where it’s not an option to just snap out of it…you kind of just have to feel it and give yourself a little hug.  My mourning period required lots of alone time.  On Friday my mom called and invited me to the Famer’s Market with her and the kids that afternoon.  I neeeeeeded to get out of the house so I gladly accepted! And look at this little blue crew…we didn’t even plan this! #matchingismydream
